KFCRI conducted a two-day “Joint accreditation course for Associate at Arbitration Practice” on 14.11.2019 and 15.11.2019 in collaboration with SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur.

 

KFCRI under the aegis of Kovise Foundation conducted a two-day training program in association with SASTRA Deemed to be University on the basic principles of the particular ADR mechanism. This training program aims at accrediting Associates at Arbitration Practice, on a two-day training course conducted between 14.11.2019 and 15.11.2019 at the School of Law, SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur. Under this project, KFCRI trained the prospective undergraduate students and faculty members from the SASTRA University with the basic principles underlying ADR mechanism. This project enhanced immensely the outlook of ADR mechanism. The event saw the presence of 35 participants who were students and faculty members of SASTRA Deemed to be University. The training for the participants was conducted on the following sessions:

    • ADR - Fundamentals
    • Arbitration – What, Why, How and When
    • Understanding and Interpretation of Arbitration agreement/clause
    • Briefing of Law on Arbitration
    • Role of Courts & Cost and Finality
    • International Arbitration – Hard and Soft Laws & Arbitrator Ethics
    • Perspective on Procedure
    • Costs 

The trainers for the event were:

  • Mr. Inbavijayan Veeraraghavan, International Arbitrator and Project Advisor of KFCRI
  • Mr. Deepak Narayanan, Partner, BDM Chambers, Chennai
  • Ms. Sheena Palanivel, Advocate, Trichy

The participants were trained with the basic principles underlying ADR mechanism. After the completion of the training sessions, a Mock/Role play was conducted to involve the participation of candidates. An examination was conducted to assess the participants’ eligibility for accreditation. At the end of the training session, all the participants were awarded with certificate of participation. The accredited participants will be enrolled as associate members of KFCRI from the following month. Mr. G.S.Suvethan and Mr. Shanmuga Dev highlighted the event by giving their presence and delivered a speech to the participants about the importance and significance of ADR mechanism.
